When preparing for a trekking marathon, ensure you have the following mandatory equipment:
Footwear: Sturdy, well-fitted trekking shoes or boots with good grip and ankle support.
Clothing: Moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, and waterproof outer layers (jacket and trousers) suitable for variable weather conditions.
Backpack: A comfortable backpack with a capacity of 20-30 liters, including adjustable straps and a padded hip belt.
Navigation Tools: A map, compass, and/or GPS device to ensure you stay on track.
Hydration System: A water bottle or hydration bladder with at least 2 liters of capacity, plus water purification tablets or filtration system.
Nutrition: High-energy snacks such as energy bars, nuts, or dried fruit to keep your energy levels up.
First Aid Kit: A compact kit containing essentials like adhesive bandages, antiseptic wipes, and any personal medications.
Emergency Gear: A whistle, multi-tool, and headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries for safety and visibility.
Sun Protection: Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat to protect against UV rays.
Trekking Poles: Optional but highly recommended for added balance and support on uneven terrain.
